QUANTITY surveyor

At PCP Surveyors we have the expertise to offer a full Quantity Surveying (QS) service during all stages of a project, we also offer the QS service in collaboration with Project Management (PM) & Contract Administration (CA) duties.

 

We believe that this ‘one stop’ service offers not only increased value for the money to the employer, but also ensures that the programme & cost are monitored collectively rather than as two separate entities by two separate companies.

 

The control and management of costs within a pre-identified budget is nearly always the single most important factor for the employer on any construction project.

Our QS services includes, but is not limited to:

  • Completing a feasibility study, to determine the economic viability of a project from the outset
  • Produce an initial elemental budget estimate based on the current design drawings prepared by the Project Architect (typically at planning stage)
  • Provide ongoing contract advice and support to the design team
  • Agree and manage the tender procurement and contractual strategy
  • Review designs for value engineering & value management opportunities
  • Provide an overview on project time, cost and performance
  • Prepare and issue tender documents, including producing Bill of Quantities or Schedule
    of Works
  • Prepare a pre-tender Estimate for the works from the tender information
  • Evaluate contractor’s tenders and prepare a tender evaluation report for the employer
  • Recommend a successful contractor
  • Produce full contract documentation for signing
  • Through liaising with the appointed contractor prepare a cash flow forecast for the duration of the project
  • When required visit site periodically to monitor the progress of the works and attend any project meetings
  • Agree interim valuations with the contractor
  • Produce monthly financial statements to the employer and continually monitor projected final account figure
  • Agree costs of any variations and / or expenditure against provisional sums
  •  Agree/negotiate final account with the contractor
  • Ongoing contractual support to the project architect
